A relaxed resort day at the lowest point on Earth. You will float effortlessly in the dense, mineral-rich water, cover yourself in natural black Dead Sea mud, then rinse off in fresh-water showers. The resort pass gives you beach access, pools, showers and loungers, so you can settle in for the afternoon. It is easy on the body and genuinely fun for all ages. Accessibility & physical requirements
Accessibility
The Dead Sea resort beach is largely accessible — flat boardwalks, ramps and beach wheelchairs are available at most resorts. Floating itself requires only gentle movement. Showers and changing facilities are on site.
Physical requirements
Good fitness required — canyon trails with uneven ground, elevation change and sustained walking. Not suitable for travelers with heart, knee or back conditions.
Seasonal considerations
The Dead Sea can be enjoyed year round. Summer is hot but the water is refreshing; winter is mild and pleasant. Avoid midday sun in July–August and reapply sunscreen often.
Important notes
The Dead Sea is the lowest point on Earth (≈ 430 m below sea level). Float time of 10–15 minutes is plenty. Keep valuables dry and reapply sunscreen often. Every tour group entering Jordan at the Arava / Wadi Araba (Eilat–Aqaba) border must be accompanied by a licensed Jordanian guide. If you are arriving at this border, we add a guiding fee of USD 175 per tour day for your whole group (not per person). Example: a 2-day tour adds USD 350.
What to bring
- Swimwear and a towel
- Water shoes or old sandals (the salt crust is sharp)
- Sunscreen & hat (the Jordan Valley sun is strong)
- Sealed bag for electronics — do not take valuables into the water
- A change of clothes
- Avoid shaving the morning you float — open skin stings
Frequently asked questions
What is the Wadi Mujib Siq Trail?
It is a canyoning adventure where you wade and swim up a dramatic water gorge with waterfalls, deep pools and a rope-assisted climb to the final waterfall.
When does the trail operate?
The trail operates from April to October, weather permitting.
Is the entrance fee included?
Yes, the Mujib Reserve entrance and a life jacket are included.
Do I need to bring water shoes?
Water shoes are not included but are available to rent. Sturdy water shoes are recommended for the rocky riverbed.
Where does the tour start?
Pickup and drop-off are included from your hotel in Amman or the Dead Sea.
What is the Jordan Pass, and is it required?
The Jordan Pass is an official package from the Jordanian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities that bundles a tourist-visa fee waiver with entrance tickets to around 40 of Jordan’s leading sites. It is entirely optional — you do not need it to travel with us, and you are welcome to pay each entrance fee individually at the gate instead. You buy it online before you arrive, show it at each site entrance, and it also waives the tourist visa fee when you stay at least three nights in Jordan.
When is the Jordan Pass worthwhile, and what entrance fees does it cover?
The Pass covers entrance to Petra (one, two or three days depending on the tier), Jerash, Wadi Rum, the Dead Sea resorts, Mount Nebo, Madaba, Kerak, Ajloun, Bethany Beyond the Jordan and many more sites. For most travelers it pays for itself with a single Petra visit plus the visa waiver, so any additional site is effectively free — making it the best value if you are visiting Petra and at least one other major site, or staying two or more nights. If your tour already includes entrance fees (check “What’s included”), you may not need the Pass at all. We are happy to recommend the right tier for your itinerary — just ask.
