Who this suits
Travelers with only a long weekend, cruise passengers extending by a night, or anyone who wants the two headline experiences without overreaching.
Seasonal considerations
Year-round, but summer afternoons in Petra and Wadi Rum are very hot — start early. Winter desert nights are cold; bring layers for the camp.
Practical advice
- Start early on Day 1 to reach Petra by midday and beat the worst heat.
- One night in a Wadi Rum Bedouin camp — pack a small overnight bag and leave larger luggage in the vehicle.
- Petra entrance is not included in most transfers; buy the Jordan Pass in advance to cover it.
- A 4x4 jeep safari in Wadi Rum is the standard way to see the desert — book ahead in high season.
