Seasonal considerations

Best spring or autumn. Summer Day 3 is long and hot; winter can bring snow in Amman and Jerash.

Practical advice

  • Day 3 has the most driving — start the Wadi Rum safari early to leave time for the Dead Sea.
  • Two nights: one in Amman, one in a Wadi Rum camp or Wadi Musa.
  • The Dead Sea resort day pass gives access to showers, pools and the beach — worth it after the desert.
  • Buy the Jordan Pass to cover Petra and Jerash entrances.
